Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing

What are your rates?

We operate using two basic fees: A Creative Fee and a Post Production Fee.

Creative Fee: The creative fee reflects the time and skill it takes to complete the project. This also includes a set of 10 year standard licensing rights (e.g. Editorial, Corporate Collateral, Website, Social Media (photo credit required), Professional Competitions, Trade Magazines, and Wall Display).

Post Production Fee: After the initial shoot, we spend a significant amount of time editing your images. This can include colour correction, retouching, compositing, and preparing the master files for final delivery. It is not unusual for the Post Production work to consume as much time as the photography.

Rate sheets are available upon request, just drop us an email.

Licensing & Usage

Who owns the rights to images after a shoot?

All of our images are intellectual property and we retain the copyrights to all the images we create. Images are licensed to clients for specific use and duration.

Is there a standard licence included with your fee?

Our standard licensing includes 10 years of the following rights: Editorial, Trade Show Display, Corporate Collateral, Website, Social Media (photo credit required), Professional Competitions, Trade Magazines, and Wall Display.

Can I share the images with others, like subcontractors, to use?

Third-party usage is not included with our standard licence, and requires the appropriate usage licence from us in order to avoid infringement.

How can I licence images you created for another client?

Drop us an email with details on which image(s) and we’ll send you back an invoice followed by a link to download the image(s).

Can I post the images to social media?

Yes of course! Social media usage is included in our standard license for 10 years. We simply require a photo credit for all social media posts. @joandthepeartree
